Artist Residencies at Lillstreet Art Center in Ravenswood, Chicago

Lillstreet Art Center offers year-long residencies in the departments of Ceramics and Metalsmithing, and 9-Month residencies in Textiles, Drawing & Painting, and Printmaking & Book Arts beginning in September every year.

As a collaborative, community-based art center, the residency is a place for artists to expand their personal practice and gain teaching experience; while learning how to sustain a working artist’s lifestyle. The resident artist program enriches our community by bringing artists with unique and refined skills to our educational programming through classes, workshops, public demonstrations and studio hours.

Residency Includes:

  • Personal workspace in a group studio

  • 24-hour access to facilities and equipment

  • Free classes in any of our six departments

  • Paid opportunities to teach and/or assist classes

  • Participation in a solo exhibition with an option for an end of the residency group exhibition in the Lillstreet gallery.

  • A stipend of $400 every month

Assistant Professor in Ceramics

Description
The Penny W. Stamps School of Art & Design at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in art and design, in the area of ceramics.  Applicants should have an active track record engaging ceramic methodologies. Applicants should have a strong understanding of the discourse in contemporary art and design, with capacity to engage undergraduate and graduate curricular programs  Special consideration will be given to applicants who are open to collaborative/interdisciplinary teaching, research, and creative projects within the Stamps school, across other academic units at the University of Michigan, and into the broader community context.

National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts (NCECA)
Development Manager
 

This position will provide leadership, planning, organization, and implementation of a comprehensive organizational fundraising program in collaboration with professionals working in organizational leadership, communications, events, and fiscal management. In addition to NCECA’s existing staff and volunteer board members, they will work closely with members who are ceramic artists, collectors, and donors.

The ideal candidate will have the professional skills, administrative strengths, and personal qualities to thrive in a creative environment. They must have experience researching and writing for grant opportunities, as well as managing campaigns that draw in a wide range of donor capacities. Detailed knowledge of gift planning vehicles, experience in identifying, cultivating, and securing near-term and deferred gifts, and demonstrated success in closing major gifts are highly desirable. 

A bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years of development experience are required, preferably in the arts and nonprofit fields. They should also be familiar with CRM nonprofit software, donor databases, and other fundraising technology to use in their daily job duties.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Executive Director, Managing Director of Marketing and Communications, Manager of Finance and Accounting, Board President, and Development Committee to create an annual development plan and budget incorporating cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies.

  • Develop and direct strategies that range from major gifts, membership, sponsorships, and the annual campaign.

  • Grow the membership and Collectors Circle donor program by identifying, cultivating, and soliciting new prospects.

  • Develop and sustain a stewardship program that acknowledges sustaining donors.

  • Work with communications and conference staff to manage donor solicitation and engagement, online campaigns, mailings, and special fundraising initiatives.

  • Meet with prospective donors and volunteers in the community to establish effective communications with them.

  • Develop, coordinate, and implement special events related to development and fundraising.

  • Travel to participate in the planning and implementation of the annual conference and meet with major donors.

  • Research and execute grant applications with the Executive Director, Manager of Finance and Accounting, and Board Members as appropriate, including research, proposal writing, and reporting requirements.

  • Build the planned giving program with a focus on deferred gifts such as bequest expectancies.

  • Provide support for special events including the annual NCECA Cup Exhibition & Sale and other special events.

  • Support the Board Development Committee Chair and provide necessary resources to members.

  • Oversee the fundraising module within the Association Membership System to update individual records, and track campaigns, and donor histories.

  • Collaborate on the creation of communications to support fundraising activities.

Programs Coordinator

The Programs Coordinator will work with the Executive Director, RLCC Staff, and Residents to fulfill the mission statement set forth by the Red Lodge Clay Center. The primary responsibilities of the Programs Coordinator will focus on three specific areas: Residency Programs, Education Programs, and Communications. 

Position Requirements
This is a full-time, salaried position. The ideal candidate will be well organized, energetic and highly motivated with strong interpersonal, communication, and management skills. We ask that candidates have a minimum MFA or equivalent education.

Preferred Skills/Credentials
Candidates with these skills and credentials will receive additional consideration.
Proficiency in Word Press, Mac based platforms, Microsoft office, Adobe Creative Suite, and digital photographic media. Previous experience in Arts Administration preferred. 

Compensation
Compensation will be determined based on the candidates experience and qualifications. Access to RLCC studio facilities and a private studio as well as materials at a discounted rate and may receive paid leave for professional development opportunities. Position does not include health or retirement benefits.

RLCC will offer a moving/relocation allowance to the selected candidate.
