Visiting Faculty - ART FILM (Ceramics/Sculpture)
Cal Poly Humboldt and the Department of Art + Film invites applications for a full-time, temporary Visiting Faculty position in Ceramics/Sculpture for academic year 2026/2027.
This position is a full-time, one (1) year appointment per the Collective Bargaining Agreement (Article 12.32). Subsequent reappointment for Spring 2027 is expected, but will be contingent upon satisfactory performance evaluation, budget, and programmatic need.
The successful candidate will teach Ceramics II, Ceramics III, and Special Topics in Ceramics or Sculpture.

Scripps College, a women’s liberal arts college in the Claremont Colleges, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Art specializing in Ceramics, beginning July 2026. The position carries a 2/2 teaching load plus senior thesis advising and includes responsibilities in teaching, studio and kiln management, program coordination, and departmental service. Faculty also contribute to the Core Curriculum in Interdisciplinary Humanities.
The ceramics program is supported by the Ruth Chandler Williamson Gallery, which holds significant historical and contemporary ceramics collections, offering rich opportunities for teaching and exhibition-based pedagogy.
Preferred qualifications:
• Expertise in kiln firing and glazes
• Sculptural or expanded ceramic practice
• Critical engagement with the histories, theories, and legacies of art
• Successful undergraduate teaching experience
• Capacity for interdisciplinary collaboration
• Strong organizational and communication skills
Applicants must hold an MFA by the application deadline and have college-level teaching experience.

The Flint Institute of Arts, Ceramics Programs Manager
Flint, Michigan.
The Flint Institute of Arts is the second largest art museum in Michigan and one of the largest museum community art schools in the US.
Our ceramics facilities include two large, fully equipped studios, glaze lab, two gas kilns, eight electric kilns, and raku, staffed by four instructors providing instruction and technical support including firing more than 20 tons of clay each year.
In collaboration with the School Director, this position will be responsible for oversight of ceramic facilities, instruction, curriculum, staff management, program efficiency, and the development of a long-term vision.
