NCECA BYLAWS

NCECA Bylaws amendments –
updated on July 3, 2026

During its June 2026 meeting, NCECA’s Board of Directors discussed several Bylaws amendments pertaining to committees, service terms, and other language that required updating.

These changes were approved via online ballot in July 2026.  These changes update committee designations, Board composition, and responsibilities to reflect shifts in governance and the distribution of board responsibilities, and the use of gender-neutral pronouns.

The amendments include:

1. The dissolution of the Nominations Committee and shift of its responsibilities to members of the Governance Committee. This consolidation aligns duties with committees defined in the Bylaws. (Articles 7.6-10)

2. The extension of the second Onsite Liaison Board Service term from one year to two years, and the consequential increase of the number of Onsite Liaisons on the Board at one time from three to four. This more accurately reflects the work load of these positions. (Article 6.2.C)

3. The change of all gender-specific language (“his/her”) in the document to gender-neutral language (“they/them”). (Throughout the entire Bylaws text.)
