Friday, March 27, starting at 8:00AM, cups are on sale until sold out. The line starts early!  Purchases are limited to three cups. 

NCECA welcomes cups and mugs from all who would like to donate! The Cup Exhibition & Sale supports the NCECA Fund for Artistic Development, designed to provide opportunities for artistic growth through scholarships and fellowship programs.

Please deliver your priced cup(s) on Wednesday and Thursday to room 140 A–C, level one, in the Huntington Place Convention Center. 

Each cup will be considered for a “Cups of Merit” Commission Award. Each year three panelists review all cups and selects three artists, each of whom will receive a $500 award after sending a commission of three or more cups to NCECA within 6 months following the conference. Artists are reimbursed for shipping expenses for the commissioned works.

All artists donating cups to the Annual NCECA Cup Exhibition & Sale are eligible to be considered for the Cups of Merit Award. At least one of the set of commissioned objects remains in a collection, while others are gifted to individuals and organizations in recognition of their service to NCECA and the field at large.

For those not attending the conference, you may ship your cup(s) properly packed and must be received by Monday, March 23, 2026, addressed to:

Fed-Ex and UPS are preferred.

Cups to be shipped should be double-boxed with at least 1” of soft/compressible padding (bubble wrap) around all clay surfaces and a minimum of 12 of shock absorbent packing (shipping peanuts or similar) materials between inner and outer boxes. Only new or nearly new and stable box constructions with sealed edges should be used (6 sheets of cardboard that are not firmly attached along all edges are not an adequate substitute). NCECA and Wayne State University are not responsible for any damaged, broken, or lost items.
