2023 NCECA Pre-Conference Workshop at Queen City Clay with Margaret Bohls, Josh DeWeese, Didem Mert, and Shalene Valenzuela

Queen City Clay is excited to host Margaret Bohls, Josh Deweese, Didem Mert, And Shalene Valenzuela for a two-day hands-on workshop in one of the nation's largest clay centers. Arrive early for NCECA and kick off your experience in Cincinnati by learning new building and surface decoration techniques, then try them out while the experts are here to help. The workshop starts Sunday at 6:00 pm with slide talks and a chance to get to know the artists, followed by Margaret and Josh demonstrating on Monday and Didem and Shalene on Tuesday. Participants will be given access to the studio in the afternoons and evenings to try out new techniques.

Clay Stories: A Storytelling Event

Every potter comes to the ceramic arts from different worlds and paths. Yet potters bring everything they are to the wheel and the table, and then the clay reveals something deeper in us. "Clay Stories" is a one-hour, live storytelling event featuring true stories from three studio members of Core Clay in Cincinnati.
