During the annual conference, the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts celebrates the creative, educational, and service achievements of individuals and organizations whose lives and work have influenced our field in extraordinary ways. Nominate a person or organization you want NCECA to recognize!

Honorary Members shall be individuals whose commitments to creativity, scholarship, activism, or professionalism have made transformative contributions to the ceramic arts. 

Fellows of the Council shall be persons who have made an outstanding contribution to the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts. They shall be members in good standing and shall have served the Council in significant ways for at least five years. Up to two Fellows may be elected in any one year. No currently serving Board Member is eligible for election as a Fellow of the Council.

Excellence in Teaching Award shall be near or at the end of a career dedicated to excellence in the practice of teaching as evidenced by a commitment to the rigorous ongoing development of their own work, as well as former students who are actively engaged in the field.

Outstanding Achievement Award shall be contemporary artists, educators, writers, and others, this award recognizes individuals who have successfully completed a singular project that has contributed to the field of ceramic arts in an extraordinary way. The scope of the venture should be above and beyond what would typically be considered their professional responsibilities. 

Regional Award of Excellence
In addition to the above, each year, NCECA’s Onsite Conference Liaisons nominate individuals or organizations for Regional Award of Excellence. This honor recognizes individuals or organizations who have made an outstanding contribution to the ceramic arts and or the cultural life within the region of the conference host city.

AWARD BENEFITS: Recipients of these awards receive non transferable membership in NCECA and complementary registration in the annual conference for their remaining lifetimes. In the year the award is presented, recipients who attend the President's Welcome Reception on Wednesday evening shall be eligible for lodging at the rate of conference hotels. In the year their award is presented, recipients who reside further than 200 miles away from the host conference city shall be eligible for reimbursement of one economy roundtrip airfare. All reimbursement requests must be submitted before the required dedline following the conference and include original receipts.
