The student must have attained the classification of at least a junior or its equivalent. There is no age limit. Anyone who has received a major grant or fellowship is not eligible. Applications are to be supported by two (2) letters of recommendation written by a ceramics teacher who has taught the student, along with one additional letter of support. The student must make a project proposal for use of the $1,800.00 award (cannot include payment of tuition) and must submit additional materials as specified in the “Instructions for Nominations.” A maximum of three awards may be made, of which $1,300.00 is presented at the conference. The balance of $500.00 is paid when a project report is submitted to the NCECA office. The selection committee includes the Past President (chair), the Student DAL and a third ceramist of stature (an Honorary Member whenever possible) appointed by the President.
